HSC Alum Cristin CrawleyWith a passion for health and a background in lifestyle health sciences, Cristin Crawley, MS, CHWC, guides her clients on transformative journeys toward better well-being. The 2022 graduate from The at Fort Worth鈥檚 currently works in the heart of Irving, Texas, as a certified health and wellness coach at CareATC.

As a Certified Health & Wellness Coach (CHWC), the typical day for Crawley involves personalized one-on-one coaching sessions tailored to each client鈥檚 needs. Drawing from her education in nutrition, exercise science, and behavioral change strategies, she creates holistic wellness plans that integrate seamlessly with clients鈥 lifestyles. Collaboration with medical professionals ensures a comprehensive approach that addresses both physical and emotional health.

鈥淢y education at HSC was invaluable,鈥 Crawley said. 鈥淚t equipped me with the tools to empathetically engage with clients and foster lasting behavior change.鈥

While rewarding, this role presents challenges 鈥 such as motivating clients amid busy schedules 鈥 but the rewards are equally significant. Witnessing clients achieve health milestones and enhance their quality of life fuels Crawley.

鈥淓very day, I鈥檓 inspired by the connections I form and the positive impact I can make,鈥 Crawley said.
The recipe to making a difference

Empathy and effective communication stand out as pivotal skills that have contributed to her success. By actively listening to clients and employing motivational interviewing techniques, Crawley helps her clients identify personal motivations and set achievable goals.

For aspiring health coaches, Crawley encourages a hands-on approach. She encourages getting involved with internships and volunteer work. Crawley also says developing strong communication and motivational interviewing skills will help set you apart.

Reflecting on her journey, Crawley says she wish she could tell her younger self to be patient and persistent and embrace every experience as an opportunity for growth.
